Ran in just to get new strings for a beginner's violin and the owner was very friendly. Despite coming in so close to closing time, he took the time to fix the pegs to help it hold a tune better, put the new strings on, and tuned it for me.
I purchased a bow from the Applebaum shop yesterday. I/we selected more than a dozen bows for me to play on my instrument and evaluate against two bows I brought with me.
Wow! I cannot praise the team at Applebaum highly enough. I am a fairly new cellist and was having some issues with my cello. I brought it into the shop after hearing some recommendations about Carl's skill as a luthier.
I purchased a violin from The Applebaum shop 10 years ago and Carl was wonderful to work with. Choosing an instrument can be a long process and he was patient and extremely helpful. I have also come to him with an old family heirloom violin to be repaired and the staff was extremely helpful and great to work with.
