Armen means business. He’s not gonna take the time to be the classic shop owner and appease all of your expectations of what you’re owed as the customer. What he will do is fix your gear and if you know a thing or two about it will pleasantly talk your ear off about similar gear, vintage gear, anything..
You will not find vintage gear anywhere else in NYC like this - Oberhheims to Moogs, these are HARD to find especially in great condition -he is also a top notch repair man, so your instrument will be perfect.
This is a very unique place with a one of a kind owner. I was unaware that the physical location is a repair shop only, but Armen let me come in and showed me around anyway. He gave me an unbeatable deal on some signal processing gear and I was overjoyed talking to him about some of my favorite synths.
I contacted several shops in the area and NO ONE wanted to repair my synth or even LOOK at it, because it wasn't vintage enough, or they were not familiar enough with the brand, blah blah,a kinds of nonsense non-reasons to not even give me a diagnosis...I walked into Armen's cold and the man didn't even blink an eye.
