From the reviews

I'm a musician and instructor with 2 master's degrees in music and over 25 years teaching experience and the owner of Honolulu Music Lessons Workshop and I not only have all my instruments worked on by Chris Davis at BR Fretshop and his crew, but I send all of my students there as well.

I was finally able to attain one of my dream guitars and when I got it, for lack of a better term, it sounded like dog****. After years sitting in a case because it wasn’t enjoyable to play, I took it to Chris.

★★★★★ — Justin, Jan 2019

I bought a brand new Fender American Vintage Telecaster. After a few days I realized the frets bothered me and it just didn't feel right or sound quite right. So I took it to Chris at BR Fret Shop.

★★★★★ — Brandon, Jun 2014

Staff was awesome and super polite, went above and beyond for what I paid. I would highly recommend this shop. Jason is the man.

Selling or trading gear at BR Fret Shop

BR Fret Shop comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
