I had taken my guitar to another tech before taking it to John. There was stuff left unadressed and obvious, even to me, signs of MAYBE THIS GUY HAS NO IDEA WHAT HE IS DOING that left me feeling absolutely uneasy and unsatisfied (this is in reference to the first tech i took it to, not John).
John is not only a legendary luthier for repairs, but he builds some of the finest basses and guitars on the planet. The Carruthers basses I own and use for my living are top notch and sound incredible for live as well as studio work.
I own an expensive concert classical guitar. The guitar is 47 years old, and the tuning mechanism needed to be replaced. John was recommended to me. I went to his facility in Camarillo, and he spent the necessary time to replace the mechanism with a new one which now works fine.
Carruthers GUITARS is THE BEST and only place that will fix any instrument that You have and make it look like new and will play like You want You're guitar or Bass better than anyone else ever could. They fix guitars or basse's that no one else can fix. And that is the God's HONEST truth.
