From the reviews
The Chicago store has been around since I was a child. Now I bring my daughter here. We rented an instrument from them they have always been super kind efficient they always tune it and help us out.
**update*** mark the owner reached out immediately following the review and explained what had happened with a mix up, he told me to bring the saxophone in right away. Within a few hours of having returned the saxophone I got a call back saying it was ready.
Came here to look at guitars for my son and had a great experience! We went to another music store before coming here where people who didn’t play the guitar were trying to sell us guitars. I much preferred Chicago because there were multiple guitar players helping us out.
I first met Mark at the old location in the 90's his dad was running the shop. I noticed how many instruments were there, and I bought a guitar from the store. Now Mark runs the shop at it's present location. I have know him close to 30 years,he has helpful people working in the store.
Lessons at Chicago Music Store
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Chicago Music Store. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments and rentals on hand for exactly this reason.
