From the reviews
I first visited Danville Music in March and I was very impressed by the level of knowledge and customer service by the entire staff. The selection is fantastic and every visit is a learning experience about the different brands.
Danville Music is a class act! I found my dream guitar PRS Wood Library Custom 24 10-Top in Grey Black Fade on line at Danville Music. From the first call I made to them they were all about making it so easy to make it mine. Super responsive. Cam is a gem to deal with.
I just had a $30 change of strings on my Gibson and they treated me like a long time customer. This is guitar heaven. They hooked me up with a bass teacher who does Saturdays at the store. I may just move in. I hide guitars in my closet hoping my wife does not notice.
Writing this is a bit overdue. Dave at Danville really went above and beyond for me. I had been trying to get a good PRS DW CE hardtail. They are just out of production. The first two I got from another dealer had huge neck pocket gaps. They were getting hard to find. Found one on Danville's website, bought it.
Selling or trading gear at Danville Music
Danville Music comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
Lessons at Danville Music
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Danville Music. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments and rentals on hand for exactly this reason.
