What's on the wall
“5-star service like this is exceedingly rare and a welcome stress-reliever to the process of such a financial commitment as a new instrument.”
“I’m a flute teacher and used Flute Center’s trial for one of my students to choose a step up model flute.”
“Despite the fact that I paid them nothing for the consult, shipping etc the flute was returned with a handwritten note explaining they had done some minor repairs as a courtesy.”
“I'm a new flutie but I played other woodwinds in school.”
From the reviews
If you are looking to purchase a flute, have one repaired, or simply just want to remember what true customer service can be, you need to reach out to the Flute Center. There is no need to go anywhere else.
I'm so excited by my new-to-me flute!! I'm a new flutie but I played other woodwinds in school. I only started in January, but I learned quickly that wooden flutes exist and knew I needed one. But I also knew it would be a long time before I found an affordable one.
Just wanted to give a shout out to the flute center and their great customer service, specifically JY in logistics. The item I ordered was out of stock and instead of just cancelling my order he went out of his way to find and special order exactly what I was looking for.
My experience at the Flute Center exceeded all of my expectations! I brought my flute to the repair shop & met with David, who was very kind & gave my flute a thorough assessment even though the shop was scheduled to close in five minutes. I ultimately decided to purchase a new flute & worked with Kristen.
Selling or trading gear at Flute Center
Flute Center comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
