From the reviews
Going Underground has been a staple in the local music scene for years. The selection is incredible, with vinyl from all genres. Whether you're a collector or just looking for something new, they’ve got you covered.
Definitely had to change my rating on this place. Maybe it was just a bad interaction with one employee and the entire experience went down the toilet. That being said, I gave it another go, and had an infinitely better experience not only with the staff making some recommendations, but I'm finding that a few of my…
Great selection of records, but the only thing that put me off is the employee not knowing anything about the raffle for the Deftones release. Figured that would have been communicated to staff prior to the event. Otherwise cool spot
I didn't spend too much time here but from what I saw it's a great record store. They have a lot of stuff to look at and a lot of really cool options for music. The staff was great.
Selling or trading gear at Going Underground Records
Going Underground Records comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
