Sitting outside Delray Beach Guitar Center. Getting married in a few days up Palm Beach and needed music. Spoke first to West Palm location and they directed me here. Spoke a few times over the phone with Mark and laid out a plan. Today I stoppedby (said hello and thanks to Mark) and Nick handled all flawlessly.
Love Guitar Center. Weather its in my home town or while traveling. Great selection of new and used Guitars, fun friendly staff, and warm welcoming atmosphere and people. If you are on the lookout for a particular used Guitar you can usually find a screaming deal either in store or on line.
A quick comment on the outstanding service I received from Mateo this morning at GC's Delray Beach store. I brought in some equipment to trade - he patiently took the time to explain the entire process - very transparent, professional - an all around nice guy creating an unexpectedly positive experience.
Guitar Center is a fantastic place with a great team and equipment. It's a wonderful feeling to be able to try out any instrument you want right away. In addition, our children are taking guitar and drum lessons there, and they are very happy.
Selling or trading gear at Guitar Center
Guitar Center comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
