What's on the wall
“His enthusiasm for the guitar (electric and acoustic) was palpable, and his attitude and friendly demeanor were much appreciated.”
“His enthusiasm for the guitar (electric and acoustic) was palpable, and his attitude and friendly demeanor were much appreciated.”
“I have also bought and love a Jackson Spectra Pro IV Bass and a SBMM Ray34 Bass with similar experiences for both.”
“Their selection of strings is impressive, as is their guitar, amps and accessories .”
“However they mix the used equipment in with the new and it was difficult to understand why it was so hard to find the used stuff”
“Only downside for me is the lack of stock in the drum department, but that’s just me being picky.”
“Great customer service at this location and we purchased a top tier keyboard, turntable and other items.”

From the reviews
Definitely the better of the two locations around Tucson. Very well stocked as far as acoustics are concerned. Helpful staff, especially Phoenix. The shop itself has been clean and organized every time I’ve stopped in. Only downside for me is the lack of stock in the drum department, but that’s just me being picky.
GUITAR 🎸 CENTER, IS THE WORLD'S LARGEST MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS RETAILER. IT HAS USED GEAR SUCH AS DRUMS, KEYBOARDS, BASS, DJ AND AMPS. THEY HAVE ENDLESS ELECTRIC GUITARS. GUITAR CENTER PROVIDES LESSONS FOR JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING. VERY FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE, I RECOMMEND COMING IN AND CHECK IT OUT.
Excellent staff, clean establishment, large selection, and great deals. I went to GC after work yesterday and spent 2 hrs rifling through the guitars till they closed. The staff were very patient and friendly while I conducted my quest. I narrowed it down to a Hagstrom Ultra Max, but was unable to decide before close.
Visiting the NW Tucson Guitar Center has always been a great experience. The staff are friendly, helpful and low pressure. I did want to call out a particularly positive experience I had today working with Phoenix.
Selling or trading gear at Guitar Center
Guitar Center comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
Lessons at Guitar Center
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Guitar Center. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments and rentals on hand for exactly this reason.
