What's on the wall
“Acoustics, electrics, strings, straps, picks, effects pedals, amps, everything.”
“My only gripe is that the bass selection is a little lacking and the amps are usually nothing special, but still my favorite guitar shop in Birmingham.”

“They always have a myriad of vintage guitars, and amps on hand, and all the usual accessories any aspiring guitarist would need.”
“Snagged a pre owned (and flawless) Ibanez RG5 with a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gate at the bridge, a Hot Rail in the middle, and an EMG H4 at the neck for $250!”
“I would recommend you support local small businesses and go there for all your music shop needs whether its buying, selling, lessons, repairs, etc.”
“Though I've never taken lessons here and I can't speak for all of the teachers, I do know one them and I've seen him teach.”

From the reviews
I've been a patron of Highland Music since 2005. Almost 20 years later, I'd still rather drive 30 minutes for any of my musical needs rather than visit the Guitar Center within walking distance of my house. Don is a great guy and honest business owner. He will beat amazon's price on anything in stock.
After checking out every music store in the Birmingham area I found Highland Music to have the coolest atmosphere and selection of guitars. I fell in love with a vintage archtop here and Don agreed to a very reasonable price after seeing how much I enjoyed playing it.
Great selection of guitars! There are some great speciality pieces here too. The employees are all very humble and helpful. I dig the vibe for sure. I mean...that pink guitar is amazing.
My favorite guitar shop in the Magic City! They always have a myriad of vintage guitars, and amps on hand, and all the usual accessories any aspiring guitarist would need. I've bought almost all my guitars from here, and whenever I need work done on any of them, I bring them to Harold for repairs and mods.
