From the reviews
These guys are great! They have an awesome collection of instruments. They were really helpful without being salesy at all. We hung out for about 3 hours playing every guitar in the store, and ended up going home with a couple of beautiful Breedlove's. This place is exactly what I want in a music store.
This place is incredible, I felt like a child in a candy store. They have a nice selection of violins (including electric, sweet) and mandolin family instruments definitely worth checking out. A wide variety of other instruments too! The staff were lovely, quite knowledgeable, and supportive.
It's hard to beat their selection of acoustic instruments, and their instrument repair service is excellent and reasonably priced. I highly recommend. Edit: I still love this shop. They have an impressive selection and the staff is excellent.
Great folks to deal with! The older Bill Davis dulcimer I just received is fantastic. Just as described in excellent condition. It sounds great. Great price, super quick shipment, and excellent packing. Thanks so much. I am very pleased with this entire transaction and the service I received.
Lessons at House of Musical Traditions
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at House of Musical Traditions. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments and rentals on hand for exactly this reason.
