John Symer needs no introduction! To those who might not know him, he is, hands down, one of the finest technicians in the world and, also, a first rate oboist. This makes him unequalled in the depth and skill needed for repairing and maintaining these finicky instruments!
John Symer is *the best* when it comes to anything dealing with your woodwind. My oboe was built in the 1960s. Not only did John give me a history lesson, but he replaced the cork and greased me up to get me sounding beautiful - as opposed to a dying duck. He’s simply the best!
During my oboe playing days, I was fortunate to have Jon Symer and Paul Laubin work on my oboes. Paul felt that Jon was the only repair person that could be trusted to work on his oboes at that time. He's that good!
He is very knowledgeable and was able to fix my instrument in no time but still cleaned and sanitized my instrument fully after. He gave a reasonable pricing and was extremely kind and thoughtful to us.
