I’ve been playing guitars off and on for near 50 years and own a couple of Gibson’s which I really like. I began shopping for something new, 000 size. My search was for a quality instrument with great sound, projection and playability. I took my time, played a lot of instruments.
I've searched out and played many handmade guitars. Andrew Madsen is by far at the top of the list! He is doing things with his art that has set him apart from the other builders I've had the pleasure to meet. I just received my third Madsen instrument and like the last two it's a work of art!
Andrew Madsen is an incredibly talented Luthier. His pieces are not only artistically beautiful their sound quality is unmatched. Absolutely stunning!
I met Andrew at IBMA last year and really admired his work. I’m a classical player, my pre-retirement project, and was ready for a step up from my student model. I wasn’t sure what I was looking for, but I did want a luthier-made instrument made in America, and in some nebulous way it had to be meaningful to me.
