I recently had the pleasure of visiting Mallory Guitars in Albuquerque. I had an issue with the neck relief on my guitar, and Fox immediately recognized the problem. With his expert hand, he made the necessary adjustments right on the spot, transforming my guitar's playability from subpar to absolutely stellar.
This shop is first rate/top shelf/exceptional. The owner treated me, as a first time customer, as if I was his oldest customer that had done tons of business with him. He quickly diagnosed my issue-fixed it, set up a future appointment for more in depth work, and sent me on my way in less than a quarter hour.
Came here earlier today to restring my guitar. The owner, Fox, is one of those 'one of a kind' people. He is a very nice man! Not only did I leave at no cost for my restring, but he was also kind enough to give me a bag for my guitar!
Fox makes needing guitar setup or repair an absolute treat. I've brought him some odd projects and he's resuscitated some old beaters back to excellent playability. He also helped me build my dream guitar from bits. If you need any kind of work for electric/acoustic/bass guitars, I can't recommend him enough.
