From the reviews
I seriously love both Mike's music locations. If you want a nice new guitar, banjo, or ukulele, this is where you need to go. Some music stores like the one back home for me are weird and don't let you play instruments unless you're going to buy it.
My wife and I came here about a year ago and with the help of the employees, bought our son a electric guitar. Fast forward to now, he’s been playing everyday and absolutely sheds. It was time to upgrade his amp to let his talent shine that much more. This time I returned with my son and let him try an amp.
This place is a deep dark cave filled with music. Reminds me of old Skips (my childhood music store) in the best way. Plenty of used gear in good shape at good prices, a good selection of new stuff, and all the consumables you need. Good prices on strings, too!
Been without a guitar for about 6 yrs and a lot more yrs than that since I bought one. I was traveling for work conference and my Boss recommended this awesome little guitar shop! Fell in love with a guitar after an absolutely wonderful experience in this shop with a fellow hippy soul on duty!
Lessons at Mike's Music
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Mike's Music. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments on hand for exactly this reason.
