We were in a rush—my child had a performance, and we forgot the violin after driving all the way from Forney to Plano. With just 30 minutes before rehearsal, I called Music and Arts and said (very briefly) that we needed to rent a violin right now because my kid was about to perform.
Excellent staff, who were knowledgeable and friendly. But from a brass instrument standpoint: Selection was, although acceptable, lacking. Selection of valve and tuning slide oil was minimal— while I may have simply missed it, there was no valve oil from say, Yamaha or J Meinlschmidt, both of which are well-known oils…
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Music and Arts and can't speak highly enough of my experience with Laurel. I brought in a trumpet that I had received from a friend, hoping to have it tested to ensure it was in good working condition. Laurel was incredibly helpful from the moment I walked in.
We have had excellent service here at the Music and Arts store. We have rented instruments for school, bought instruments to include a Guitar and Drum Set, and other accessories. The manager has spent enough time with me, as I assume he does with his other customers, to where I know his name, Jeff.
