From the reviews
I never leave reviews online, but Music City Guitars ABSOLUTELY deserves one. The service is incredible, the environment is welcoming and inspiring, and the knowledge and genuine care from the staff are truly unmatched. They’ve 100% made a regular out of me. I won’t go anywhere else. Music City for life!
While driving back from Austin, I did notice a new little music store pop up in a place that used to house a pizza joint. I decided to take a long lunch and went over there to check it out. The place is an old house that houses the Music store and there is a Salon in the old garage.
Great customer service upon entry! Very friendly, everyone was welcomed & a such variety with each display. Offered a tour throughout the store & described in detail all products as well as services. AMAZING selection on acoustic & electric guitars, efx pedals, amplifiers. All great quality for a great price.
The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I discovered this ship through a bass listing on Facebook Marketplace, and the staff member I spoke with was super responsive and helpful. When I got there, there were a bunch of awesome vintage guitars, basses, and amps to test out.
Selling or trading gear at Music City Guitars
Music City Guitars comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
Lessons at Music City Guitars
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Music City Guitars. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments on hand for exactly this reason.
