“Just bought a guitar that was fairly priced and was also able to trade in some old, unused gear that I know will go to a good home.”
“I noticed the repairs and setup department was doing a really brisk repeat business so they must be doing a great job.”

From the reviews
Great staff and a lot of fun for players of all levels. Vic and team are always great to deal with. Been a customer for several years. Just bought a guitar that was fairly priced and was also able to trade in some old, unused gear that I know will go to a good home.
I went in to MGR Boston looking to get an appraisal on my current acoustic and potentially upgrade to a better one. What I got was an appraisal on my mindset and an upgrade to a better way of living.
Hey! I visited this store for the first time on 11/8/25 and had a great experience. When I walked in, staff was super kind and welcoming, especially Vick. I think that was his name. Super helpful in explaining the layout of the store and I didn't feel any pressure to buy anything.
Was online looking to buy a keyboard when I came across this place. They immediately got back to me minutes after I emailed and inquired about a keyboard they had. Drove over on a weekend to pick it up, and everyone there was awesome. Very quick to help and friendly staff as well place has lots of stuff.
Selling or trading gear at Music Go Round Boston
Music Go Round Boston comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
