From the reviews
I’m not even from the Fort Collins area, but I had an excellent experience with this music go round location thanks to the salesman Kyle who was very patient, honest (emphasis), and helpful with my telephone inquiry regarding a particular guitar I was interested in buying.
We went to Music Go Round to find an electric guitar for my daughter, who is learning to play. The sales clerk Camden James was incredibly helpful, showing her a variety of instruments within our price range. And speaking of prices, theirs are great! We got a guitar, case, amp, tuner, and wall mount for around $300.
I asked to have my purchase of a heavy bass head packed well. It was packed better than well!!! Best packing I've ever seen. Guitar Center and MF could take a lesson from MGR on packing used gear. Since the head arrived I have been putting it through its paces and so far so good.
I purchased a Laney lc15 tube amp from them. Shipping was fast and the amp was packaged very good. All the tubes were taken out and individually wrapped in bubble wrap then sandwiched between cardboard to protect them. This is the proper way to ship an amp. Though most places dont take the time or effort to do it.
Selling or trading gear at Music Go Round
Music Go Round comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
