Nielsen Violin Shop

I have been a customer of Nielsen's Violin Shop for two generations of Nielsens. I bought my much loved, first professional level bow from Chris Nielsen's father with my high school graduation money. Since then, my students and I have purchased many instruments, accessories and repairs there.

Chris has to be one of the most patient, knowledgeable and skillful luthiers in town, if not the only one. Regardless you are a professional or a hobbyist, young or adult, he has you covered. From repair, tuneup to sale, he handles them all. His new shop feels like Ollivanders, the wand shop but brighter.

Very kind and helpful man running this shop. We rented a cello for a number of months and I would have no reservations using this shop for any service it provides. Thank you!

I've been here one time to get my violin re-strung and to see how it was done. The gentleman I worked with was excellent and seems to have a lot on his plate. He showed me how to re-string it, sold me a chin rest and some rosin also. I definitely recommend coming here for any needs you may have!
