I Love this place !!! Back in 2017 I happened in after a Kaiser appointment and dontcha know they had a kick-ass Blueridge Super Jumbo on the wall that played like a great dream, sounded fantastic, and as it happened was really reasonably priced.
What can you say about this shop that hasn't been said? I don't know why you would ever enter a big box music store while this place exists. I've been coming here regularly for a while and have spent enough money here to say that the shop takes keeping the place welcoming seriously, that integrity is just as important…
Went to go and buy my first guitar just last week. There was a wide range of electric guitars and acoustic. I let the gentleman working the counter my price range for an acoustic guitar, and he gave me his recommendations. I wasn't really good at playing guitar but I played the two songs I knew, and it sounded great!
The wall is life, the wall has it all.(particularly if you have a warm spot in your soul for offsets). The repair shop not only does excellent work, they are unafraid to give you all the info and time you need to think before making any decision.
Selling or trading gear at Oakland Guitars

First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
