This is a unique store -- one side is antiques, with some rare pieces and things you don't see at other antique stores. The other side of the store is instruments and music paraphernalia. There is something new and interesting every time you come.
Would love to give a 10, but a five out of five will do for now. Been looking for a very specific guitar and became kind of obsessed with it. I didn't know Jake, Brandy, and Tyler at Pickers Paradise when I first saw they had the guitar, but pretty quickly they felt like the world's coolest family.
Very friendly, accommodating, and the selection is incredible! Every time I go in, there’s something new. I’ve lived all over the US and I’ve never come across a store like this. They’ve always hooked me up with deals and always offer me great trade value. Worth the stop if you’re ever visiting!
NOT A PAWN SHOP!!!! About 4 Months ago I was looking for a pawn shop and this was listed as one by google. Totally not the case. It is however a World Class music store specializing in world class guitars, bases, amplifiers and accessories.
Selling or trading gear at Pickers Paradise
Pickers Paradise comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
