From the reviews
Highly recommend. Great prices, friendly staff and overall quality of the preowned records are in very good condition!
Preserving Records sister store is a welcome curated collection of mainstream favorites. I bought a few memorable albums from the 80s through the 90s. It also has a wide collection of jazz and classic rock, and an interesting selection of world music. Definitely worth the visit if you're in the area!
Great place to look through cheap CDs, DVDs and vinyl. I have been there twice and always find good stuff. My only issue with the place is that I have found DVD box sets in the $2.
Bargain basement was great had good selection of rock, folk, gospel, pop, soul and funk. Some of the discs weren't even too bad and easily fixed w ultrasonic cleaner. Was definitely worth the drive and is a great way to grow your record collection for as cheap as you probably could find anywhere.
Selling or trading gear at Preserving Vinyl
Preserving Vinyl comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
