What's on the wall
“After hanging out a while, taking in all the vintage board games, vinyl records, tapes, and CDs, he was soon sharing stories about the chaos of the infamous City Gardens days.”
“I’ve figured out that I’ve probably bought 100 new, reissued, and used albums since I started going there, and Randy is always willing to help with special requests.”
What players say again and again
“I had a large box of old albums & 45's that I no longer needed, Randy came that same day, looked over all and gave me an extremely fair price for all.”
“Bigger than life, his encyclopedic knowledge of music combines with his good nature to make this place so very special.”
From the reviews
Must‑visit. Randy himself was the unexpected highlight for me. He was welcoming, and a walking encyclopedia of Jersey’s underground music history. After hanging out a while, taking in all the vintage board games, vinyl records, tapes, and CDs, he was soon sharing stories about the chaos of the infamous City Gardens…
I absolutely LOVE Randy and his Man Cave! Great selection of vinyl, cool vintage toys and a sweet venue for live music!
Small but really nice record store. Great selection of vinyl, cd, and other vintage items. Saw a band there. Sound was great. Small but great place to see bands up close
Randy is the coolest. I never get tired of browsing his many many vinyls and CDs and other vintage goodies. Excellent local shop if you are a music nerd like myself
Selling or trading gear at Randy Now's Man Cave
Randy Now's Man Cave comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
