This is the best guitar store in Tampa or St. Pete for used and USA or vintage guitars … the sort of store that just doesn’t exist anymore. Was worth the drive. The minute I walked into Shawn's store I fell in love with the guitar my heart had been searching for. There, in its gorgeous case was a Mini Maton Deisel Special with an AP 5 Pro pickup. This small guitar feels built exactly for me. Shawn made it magically easy for me to gift myself with this beauty.
I was thinking of selling my Martin D-18. I had read good things about Redwoods, so I took it there yesterday to get a sense of its value. The store was wonderful and the team was AWESOME! Extremely knowledgeable, very friendly, and super low-key. I ended up trading my Martin for a Gibson that I absolutely love!
This is an amazing store, run by a great guy! Our band stopped in while on the road and we were blown away by the selection of gear. We had a great time talking with Shawn, playing guitars, and leaving with a pedal we've been looking for.

First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
