What's on the wall
“Diana is simply an excellent music instructor, best place ever for anything musical”
“Very impressed by their collection of higher end banjos and mandos.”
What players say again and again
“Staff was knowledgeable and courteous, and they may even let your dog in with you if you ask nicely.”
“My original action was so high but as a beginner, I didn't know what it means.”
From the reviews
I could not play my acoustic. I didn't know what action and truss rods were, but now I do. Diane lowered the action on my guitar, adjusted the truss rod and I picked it up today. The difference is like night and day. It is simply AMAZING to me that I can now play it.
Excellent selection of items, including ornately made instruments by local artists. Also, the staff is very helpful and knowledgable. Highly recommended for beginners and the more experienced musician.
This was a few years ago, but I just found the video again on my phone and would like to say thank you so much for being as kind and thoughtful as you were on that day you showed me even the simplest component of music.
We were just passing through downtown Lexington when we found this place. Very impressed by their collection of higher end banjos and mandos. The nylon fingerpicking guitarist in me didn't find too much in terms of selection but my wife the uke player had a ball playing some very nice instruments.
Lessons at Rockbridge Music
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Rockbridge Music. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments and rentals on hand for exactly this reason.
