From the reviews
Laid back place with a great selection of pro gear. Props to Ryan Fowler for stocking left handed guitars occasionally — would love to see more like this sweet Duesenberg! I’m an hour and a half away and consider this place totally worth the drive.
Zach, their luthier is top shelf, first class! He has set up all 3 of my guitars: a '96 player plus strat, a boutique custom Tele, and he just finished swapping out the pups on my boutique custom strat. This guy is a genius, superb quality, great down to earth guy.
The whole staff at Ryan Fowlers are great, knowledgeable and treat you like a fellow guitar player. I got an absolutely beautiful Stratocaster from them (used), they hooked me up with the hardcase for no charge and made sure I had everything I needed. Will be going back in the future for guitar needs
I haven't been to the store yet, but look forward to when I'm in the area. I purchased a guitar online after corresponding with multiple reps at the store and the experience was great. Knowledgeable, quick to respond both before and after the sale. Won't hesitate to do business here again.
Selling or trading gear at Ryan Fowler's Guitar Experience
Ryan Fowler's Guitar Experience comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
Lessons at Ryan Fowler's Guitar Experience
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Ryan Fowler's Guitar Experience. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments and rentals on hand for exactly this reason.
