What's on the wall
“Mauriats, Mark VIs, there was a rare 5-digit there that I got to try out from 1957 and it sounded like I was playing straight onto vinyl; magical!”
“If you’re a saxophonist looking for expert repair, an overhaul, or a new/used instrument, I highly recommend Sax Alley.”
“I also can’t say enough about their repair department - they took my 20 year old Cannonball to clean and restore it fully and it’s playing better than ever.”
“His name is Steven Marin and he has meticulously adjusted several of my Buffet clarinets, Selmer C foot bass clarinet, and my Selmer Mk VI alto saxophone.”

From the reviews
I don't know why it took me so long to finally bring my saxophones to Sax Alley for repairs. I took my horns to other repair shops in the past due to loyalty, but my latest tech retired, and I knew I had a leak in my lower stack that I tried to get addressed elsewhere and it still didn't feel like my saxophone was…
I brought my Selmer Mark VI tenor (97xxx) to Sax Alley after buying it from a private seller. The horn had been relacquered, so its market value wasn’t top-tier, but it still played well for its age and had real potential.
I was fortunate to discover the finest clarinet repair technician in Colorado at Sax Alley in Loveland. His name is Steven Marin and he has meticulously adjusted several of my Buffet clarinets, Selmer C foot bass clarinet, and my Selmer Mk VI alto saxophone.
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Great new space. Super helpful with letting my daughter demo items and find what she really wanted. Well worth the drive from Denver, glad we did.
Selling or trading gear at Sax Alley
Sax Alley comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
Lessons at Sax Alley
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Sax Alley. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments and rentals on hand for exactly this reason.
