What players say again and again
“I told him exactly what I was looking for, and he not only found it, but also walked me through other great options I hadn’t even considered.”
“Felt like I got a good deal on an acoustic electric guitar.”
From the reviews
I was looking for a guitar online and found one that was the model I was looking for on Ted's website. Since I am in Virginia I was not really looking to drive to Ohio to get a guitar, so I inquired about shipping.
I started emailing Raphael on Sunday about a firearm they had for sale on armslist. I asked him what his bottom dollar was and he said he would get back with me Monday and much to my surprise he actually did.
Bought a guitar in store on a Saturday. The gun counter was busy so I had to wait to look at the instruments behind the music counter. Felt like I got a good deal on an acoustic electric guitar. A small selection on their website. Sounds like they also have a heavy Facebook marketplace presence.
Absolutely awesome transaction. Any and all questions answered in less than 4 hours during operating times. Eagerly and promptly provided additional pics upon request. Best of all, the revolver I received was hands down better than anticipated. The base photos did not do the gun justice.
Selling or trading gear at Ted's Pawn Shop
Ted's Pawn Shop comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
