🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Five-Star Review for The Fret Shop in Winchester, VA! 🎸🎶 I had an absolutely fantastic experience at The Fret Shop in Winchester, VA, and I couldn't wait to share my thoughts! From the moment I stepped into the shop, I was blown away by the warm and welcoming atmosphere.
I traveled about 1.5 hours to get to this guitar shop. The owner runs the shop and is very welcoming. Also very knowledgeable. I played so many guitars and he was patient the entire time. Didnt pressure me and let me just play and figure out what I wanted. After about two hours I narrowed it down and made a purchase.
Jon is an all around professional. Nice little shop that is stocked with beautiful instruments and a wealth of knowledge and understanding. Though my guitar journey is still in the early stages, was treated with repect. He cleaned up, adjusted as necessary, and replaced my strings. Couldn't be happier.
This shop is cool! My husband wanted to upgrade my guitar for Christmas, so he called and met with Jon ahead of time, Jon helped him pick out some guitars in the intended price range. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
