UPDATE: so it's now a couple years later, one more guitar and a really nice Fender Blues Junior amplifier. I cannot express how happy I am with the guys at the guitar shop. So many guitar stores are geared towards the high end, perhaps professional players. These guys understand people who just want to play guitars.
My daughter takes guitar lessons at the guitar shop and it has been a wonderful experience! Her teacher is kind, patient, encouraging and talented. Brad, the owner, is also very kind to children and shares his love of music with anyone who walks in the door!

I recently went to the Guitar Shop, didn't know anything about guitars but was looking to replace my Dad's guitar from the 70's. The guitar shop had a great selection and was so helpful in finding the one to fit my needs. They even re-strung the guitar and provided me with stellar service.
