I did some in depth research on the best music store in the sac area and came away with Nicholson's as the answer. I brought in my stratocaster and was greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Andy was the luthier that worked on my guitar, performing a full setup and installing some fender 57'/62' pickups.
Great friendly shop. Went in a few weeks ago to buy a new guitar. Norm and crew were super helpful and patient. Listened to what I was after and recommended a few guitars to try. Never felt pressured to buy or upsold. Ended up with a really great Eastman guitar that has leveled up my playing.
I bought my first guitar there in 1986 and have had lessons from several of their teachers, all outstanding in their own way. By far the best music store experience you can get in my opinion. I’ve had several guitars worked on and their workmanship is excellent.
The best music store I've ever been to!! They're very knowledgeable and nice. The best selection of all musical instruments!! They give the best deals in town. Family owned and operated they've been open forever!! If you need your guitars worked on bring them on in they'll fix them!!
