From the reviews
I wouldn't be the man of God, musician, artist, audio engineer, keyboardist, any kind of music theorist, percussionist (on djembe and some things), business man, help for the lost and homeless and needy and poor and hungry, and yes, Good Son, decent skillfully on several instruments, and successful Artist all across…
These people are more than just my Luthier shop. I have known Andrew since youth, Logan, & Doug since my early years coming into the local music scene and music industry, and Angela and Richard are also fantastic.
The staff is great. I was looking for a hollow body electric guitar. They don't stock a lot but had some used. I got the Ibanez Artcore AK 80. They put new strings on it and tweaked the setup. Love it so far. Seriously cool place! Oh, I also get free strings for life! Some really good deals if you are looking.
I visited this store on Tuesday wanting to learn to pick up guitar, the employees and store owner spent about 45 minutes talking to me, showing me guitars, and passing on their own expertise on what I should be looking for.
Lessons at UpBeat Music
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at UpBeat Music. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments on hand for exactly this reason.
