From the reviews
Definitely the best record store in No.Va. Mike & his staff are friendly & knowledgeable! Great selection of Metal, Thrash, Punk/H.C. plus tons more! they also have a Killer array of collectibles like colored vinyl, limited editions, books & lots of cool stuff! Highly recommended!!!! Mike's Shop is a hidden gem!!!
Literally the best metal music store in the mid-Atlantic. Ridiculous selection of CDs, vinyl, and memorabilia. And from the NWOBHM classics to nineties death metal. Plus I’ve gotten some awesome recs from the staff - if they have an idea of what you like, they’ll help set aside stuff for you that comes in.
If you love metal, this is the place to go! Huge selection, fun staff, and always a high probability of finding a rare gem for your collection. I just picked up Mayhem's Live in Leipzig on vinyl yesterday. I never thought I would find that anywhere other than maybe online. I highly recommend this spot.
Cool little record shop packed with vinyl and CDs. Picked up 4 CDs at a great price. Staff was super friendly. Will definitely return.
Selling or trading gear at Vienna Music Exchange
Vienna Music Exchange comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
