America's Guitar Capitals (2026)
Every list of "best music cities" is vibes. This one is a store count. We mapped 8,315 US guitar and musical instrument stores, rolled them up by city, and ranked the results two ways — raw count, and stores per resident. Updated 2026-07-15.
The most guitar stores, period
By raw count the biggest markets win, as you'd expect — New York leads with 35 stores. The interesting rows are further down: Nashville matches Chicago's store count with less than a third of Chicago's population, and Las Vegas out-stocks Los Angeles outright. Music towns punch far above their census weight.
