From the reviews

I have passed by this place daily for years now and finally decided to stop in and see what the business was or sells. They have a wonderful selection of string instruments.... The staff was super friendly and know how to play the instruments so you can see the quality of sound...

Experts at work there, to put it lightly. Andy understood what I was looking for (better than I did -he's the real deal. Insanely talented musician, expert at his craft both mucially and in building/repairing basses). He had Everything set out and ready to try when we arreived. Felt like red carpet treatment.

Super good guys that know the industry. Helped me buy a VERY nice bass for a price that I could afford. Any other luthier would have said no for the price I needed. Honest and fair in every aspect.

Just want to give a shout out to Andy, Chris and Bill at the CBC. Chris did a Superb job on my Double Bass extension. There guys are experts in their craft and will take the time to fully inform you on your repair, restoration and what not. Don’t hesitate to take your Bass to the CBC.

Selling or trading gear at Cincinnati Bass Cellar

Cincinnati Bass Cellar comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
