This place is fabulous! Really- if your into music check it out! Have started my bucket list for replacing my records collection couple of years ago. Friendly small staff, awesome selection, cassettes and 45's. And now they have started a record listening session at the Eugene Library 😊.
Kind of a fun place. There's a pretty admirable collection of vinyl (although the stuff on the bottom shelf is pretty hard to reach for us older guys), it's all priced pretty reasonably and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Parking leaves a bit to be desired, but overall it was a solid experience.
I came in not knowing what to pick as a gift for a friend, but after talking to a wonderful staff member I got 5 within-budget records and a cute tote bag! I had no idea what the records were, but my friend was enamored with them. This place is a must-go if you’re into records.
Best record store in town. The owner is kind and extremely knowledgeable. They sell at excellent prices and the staff is friendly. Cheers!
Selling or trading gear at House of Records
House of Records comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
