I absolutely love this place for re-stringing and other violin care elements. Yordan Popov is truly a professional and takes very good care of his instruments. He is also a skilled Luthier and has an impressive selection of stringed instruments, bows and accessories.
I visited multiple violin shops in search of an upgraded viola to replace the student one I’ve been using since childhood. Out of all the shops I went to, from Richmond to DC, no one is as experienced and knowledgeable as Yordan.
I am improving my violin skills. I have a student violin, and I wanted to know basically if my instrument was worth the money that I eventually will end up paying after rental fees. I came to this shop seeking answers. My violin sounded cruddy, and I was convinced that it was low quality and I needed something better.
I took a 1/4 size, 1950's Kay plywood bass in to the shop with several significant issues. While I ultimately did the repairs myself due to the value of the bass and the extent of the damage, Yordan took a lot of time to review and discuss the bass, and ended up giving me an EXTREMELY fair quote on the damage.
