As a professional guitarist, I must have someone I can to I fully trust with my guitars. Phil Jacoby is an outstanding guitar repair, luthier, and all-around great person. I've been taking my guitars to him for almost 20 years.
I bought a 1970 Gibson SG in 1973 when I was just in high school. The guitar has needed work for a long time but I have been afraid to let anybody work on it because it had such sentimental value to me. Phil was very very highly recommended to me.
Phil did a fantastic job re-fretting my Telecaster with SS frets and installing a bone shelf nut. The guitar plays & sounds better than ever. His attention to detail is impressive & he knows a ton about his craft. The work was delivered on time and his $ estimate was right on. I've been looking for someone like Phil.
Phil is the best luthier I ever had. He performed several refrets and neck reshapings for me over the years and the quality of his work was always top-shelf. I just wish I still lived in the region so all my guitars could continue to get Phil’s attention.
