Matt built this Zimbelman custom electric for me about a year and a half ago. I’ve been meaning to write a review, but have been too busy playing the guitar! This a mahogany body with transparent flame maple top and matching headstock, black binding, bolt on maple neck and fretboard.
Top-notch luthier! Matt filed the frets down real low on my new Epi SG Special. I brought my old Gibson Les Paul to Matt so he could see how low I wanted them to be on the SG, and he made it happen. My SG now plays like a guitar four times the price, no exaggeration.
Ive used Matt twice and I can't imagine ever using anyone else. His work is perfect and exceeds all expectations. He had to replace the truss rod on my Gibson Flying V - that is NOT an easy repair. The result was pure art. It looks and plays better than new. I find his rates VERY reasonable and his work flawless.
Matt gets five stars all the way.I gave him a guitar that was mediocre at best. He cleaned it up put new strings on it, and fixed the action. I say all of that to say this either my guitar playing has gotten extremely better over the past week or this guitar sounds excellent all evidence is leading to the guitar..
