Jim is a true artisan and has had a passion for handcrafted instruments for over 30 years. The first instrument he made was a bass at the age of 19. From there he attended a luthier program were he excelled at the construction and repair of violin’s, viola’s, and cello’s.
I had the enormous pleasure of seeing JT Custom Bass at the Tacoma Guitar Festival. These basses are a feast for the senses! Not only are they stunningly gorgeous but also super playable. While they do look like beautiful pieces of art that could be displayed on the wall, these things were made to be played.
Wow! My dad and I went to the Tacoma Guitar Festival and were lucky enough to chat with Jim & see his beautiful instruments. If you are looking for a gorgeous, unique bass made by a passionate craftsman, look no further! Not only will you get a top of the line musical instrument but a one of a kind piece of art!
By appointment only, these instruments are truly worth the time to visit the maker, see the attention to detail, and hear the difference in the play. I highly recommend JT custom bass when you’re ready to level up to a finely crafted instrument.
